About 5 years ago my good old friend Sedat invited me to a comp he had organized in Turkey, and he also took me to an unknown great spot he had recently discovered. The spot is called Gökova, and I went there for 3 days to find out the potential of that place. Great food, a nice small and cozy village nearby, and most importantly a very safe spot with soft thermal wind that picks up everyday around 10am until 5-6pm. Since that trip, Sedat opened a kite school (kiteacademytr), a shop and a restaurant in the village. He invited me to go back and see his setup, and I took advantage to bring my mate Hugo and cameraman Arnaud Scius a.k.a. Moups. It amazed me to see how fast that place went from being an empty spot with no more than 5 kiters, to one of the most famous spots in Turkey, with 8 schools and nearly 200 kites in a good summer day. Sedat treated us like kings, he took us to the best places to eat delicious Turkish food, we kited nearly everyday during our 10 days trip, we also did a mini road trip to another great undiscovered spot, and we fully enjoyed the Turkish lifestyle. Here is the video Moups edited for us, I really like it and think he’s done a great job with the editing.
